# Ram 1500 Bolt Pattern: 5x139.7 (2009 to 2018) vs 6x139.7 (2019+) > Every 2009 to 2024 DS Ram 1500, Classic included, is five-lug 5x139.7. Every 2019 to 2026 DT is six-lug 6x139.7. Every 2019 to 2026 fifth-generation Ram 1500 (DT) has a six-lug pattern of 6x139.7 mm.** The bolt circle diameter is the same 139.7 mm; the number of studs is not, so a wheel from one body cannot be fitted to the other. Because the Classic and the DT were sold in the same years under the same name, "2019 to 2024 Ram 1500 wheels" is not a complete description of a wheel. Count the lugs. The DT is a heavier-duty chassis than the DS, with a new frame, larger 14.9-inch front brakes and higher payload and tow ratings, and a six-stud hub spreads the load over more fasteners. Stellantis's launch release does not spell out the stud count as such, but it describes the new frame and brakes, and the hubs on every DT we have dismantled carry six studs. Checked 9 September 2026. ## Can I use adapters to put DS wheels on a DT? Five-to-six adapters exist in the aftermarket. We do not sell them and do not recommend them on a truck that tows or carries a load: an adapter adds a second set of fasteners and a spacer between the hub and the wheel, changes the offset and moves the wheel bearing load outward. Buy wheels in your truck's pattern. ## What else has to match besides the lug count? - **Centre bore.** The hole in the middle of the wheel has to clear the hub. Factory wheels for the right body clear it by design. - **Offset and width.** A 22-inch Limited wheel on a Tradesman changes ride and clearance; factory-to-factory swaps within a body are usually fine, but say what you have and what you want. - **Tire size.** Changing wheel diameter changes the tire you need, and on a DT with adaptive cruise and the camera systems, keeping the overall diameter close to factory matters. - **Lug nuts.** Factory chrome-clad and alloy wheels use different seat types. A set from us comes with the donor's nuts where they were good. - **Tire pressure sensors.** They come with the wheels when present and need to be learned to your truck. ## How do I count the lugs without getting on the ground? Look through the wheel's centre at the nuts, or look at the spare under the bed: it has the same pattern as the road wheels. On a DS or Classic there are five; on a DT six. ## Sources 1.
