**We sell used Ram 1500 brake calipers and brackets, steering knuckles and spindles, upper and lower control arms, coil springs, front struts and the components of the factory four-corner air suspension,** from 2009 to 2026 trucks. These are the parts that make a bent, rusted or worn truck drive straight again without a dealer bill. We tell you plainly which of them are worth buying used (a knuckle, a control arm, a caliper bracket, a spring, an air suspension compressor or strut) and which you should buy new (pads, rotors, brake hoses, ball joints on a worn arm). Nothing here crosses between the DS and DT bodies.

## What is worth buying used, and what is not?

**Ram 1500 brake and suspension parts: used or new**

| Part | Buy used? | Why |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Steering knuckle / spindle | Yes | A forged part that does not wear; it gets replaced because it was bent or the hub bore rusted. We check straightness and the bearing seat. |
| Upper and lower control arms | Yes, with the bushings and ball joint checked | The arm itself lasts; the ball joint and bushings wear. We say what is in each arm. |
| Brake caliper and bracket | Yes, for a seized or damaged one | A good used caliper is checked for piston movement and slide pins. Fit new pads. |
| Rotors and pads | No | Wear items. Buy new. |
| Coil springs | Yes | Springs sag slowly and break rarely. A matched pair from a lower-mileage donor is a good buy; we note the trim, because Rebel and off-road springs are taller. |
| Front struts | Case by case | A strut is a wear item, but a low-mileage OEM strut beats a cheap aftermarket one. Mileage stated. |
| Air suspension struts, springs, compressor, height sensors, reservoir | Yes | These are the expensive parts on an air-ride truck and the reason people ask. Checked holding pressure on the donor. |
| Hubs and wheel bearings | Case by case | A quiet, low-mileage hub is fine; a hub with any roughness is not sold. |

## Why does nothing cross between DS and DT?

Because the DT is a different chassis. Stellantis's 2019 launch release describes a new frame of "98 percent high-strength steel", longer wheelbases, "largest front brakes in segment at 14.9 inches" and a "four-corner air suspension system" for the new truck. Different knuckle (six studs, not five), different arms, different caliper and rotor size, different air components. Within the DS, most chassis parts run 2009 to 2024, with the 2013 refresh changing some front suspension pieces with the introduction of the air suspension option and electric power steering on some models. We match by year as well as body.

## What about the factory air suspension?

The Ram 1500 offered a four-corner air suspension from the 2013 DS refresh, with five height settings, and again on the DT. When it fails, it is usually one of a few things: a leaking air spring or strut, a compressor that has worn out trying to keep up with a leak, a height sensor, or the reservoir and lines. Used OEM components from a working donor are a fraction of the dealer price, and we check every air component holding pressure before it comes off. The system holds pressure; depressurise it before you disconnect anything, and have the work done by someone who has done it before.

## What is checked before a chassis part is tagged?

- **Knuckles**: for straightness, thread condition and the hub bore.
- **Control arms**: for bushing cracks and ball joint play, described honestly.
- **Calipers**: for piston movement, slide pins free, no seized bleeder.
- **Springs**: for cracks and corrosion pitting, sold in pairs.
- **Air components**: holding pressure on the donor; compressors run and listened to.

## Do you ship these?

Yes, most of them, at the buyer's expense. Springs and knuckles are heavy but pack well. Air struts are boxed carefully.
