Used Ram 1500 tail lights, incandescent and LED
We stock used OEM Ram 1500 tail light assemblies in both factory types: the standard incandescent lamp fitted to Tradesman, Express, SLT and Big Horn trucks, and the premium LED lamp fitted to Sport, Laramie, Rebel, Longhorn and Limited trims, across the 2013 to 2024 DS and Classic and the 2019 to 2026 DT. The two types use different wiring and are not a straight swap, so we confirm which one your truck has before quoting. Each lamp is checked for cracks, moisture and full function before it is tagged.
How do I tell an LED tail light from an incandescent one?
Look at the lit lamp. An LED unit lights instantly with a crisp, even bar or ring; an incandescent one glows up from a filament and shows a single bright spot behind the lens. Unlit, the LED lamp on the DS has a smoked or clear section with a visible light bar, while the incandescent has plain red lenses with reflector patterns. On the DT the LED lamp is noticeably more sculpted. The trim tells you too: the higher trims took LEDs.
Why can't I just fit LED tail lights to my truck?
Because the truck's body computer expects a certain load on each lamp circuit. An LED lamp draws far less current than a bulb, so a truck built for bulbs will often flag a bulb-out warning, hyper-flash the turn signals or refuse to light the LED at all. The factory LED trucks have different wiring and configuration. It can be done with the right harness and a configuration change, and we will tell you what is involved, but it is not "unbolt, bolt on".

What about blind-spot monitoring?
On DT trucks with blind-spot monitoring, the radar sensors sit behind the rear bumper corners, not in the tail lamp, so a tail lamp swap does not disturb them. On some trucks the tail lamp housing carries a wiring branch for the trailer or the camera; we note which harness a lamp came with.
What is checked on a used tail light?
- Lens for cracks and chips, especially at the lower outboard corner where backing into things shows first.
- Seal and moisture, and the mounting studs and nuts present.
- Function: tail, brake, turn, reverse and, on LEDs, every segment lit. A lamp with a dead LED segment is not sold as good.
