Used Ram 1500 Uconnect 8.4 radios and screens
We sell used Ram 1500 Uconnect 8.4-inch head units and displays from 2013 to 2026 trucks: the RA3 (8.4A) and RA4 (8.4AN with navigation) units from 2013 to 2017 DS trucks, the Uconnect 4 and 4C units with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto from 2018 DS, the Classic and 2019 and later DT trucks, and the 12-inch Uconnect 4C NAV where a donor had it. Every radio is checked powered up in the donor for a working touchscreen, sound, Bluetooth and camera input before it is tagged. Some units plug straight in; some need a dealer or a capable shop to configure them to the receiving truck, and we tell you which before you buy.
Which Uconnect unit is in which truck?
The 2013 refresh introduced "the 8.4-inch Uconnect system" to the Ram 1500. For 2019 Stellantis listed "Uconnect 4 with or without navigation on an 8.4-inch display" and a "class-exclusive, 12-inch reconfigurable touchscreen display" on the DT.

|---|---|---|---|
| Uconnect 8.4A (RA3) | 2013 to 2017 DS | Touchscreen, Bluetooth, USB, no built-in navigation (can be unlocked) | Into a RA3 truck: plug in, may need configuration for camera and options |
| Uconnect 8.4AN (RA4) | 2013 to 2017 DS, Laramie and up | As RA3 plus Garmin-based navigation, HD radio | Into a RA3 truck: physically the same slot; configuration needed for nav to work |
| Uconnect 4 / 4C 8.4 | 2018 DS, 2019 to 2024 Classic, 2019 to 2024 DT | Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, faster processor; 4C adds navigation | DS and DT units are not the same part; match body and year |
| Uconnect 4C NAV 12-inch | 2019 to 2024 DT, Laramie and up, optional lower | 12-inch portrait screen, split-screen, navigation | Into an 8.4 DT: a dash bezel, harness and configuration job, not a radio swap |
| Uconnect 5, 12 and 14.4-inch | 2025 to 2026 DT | New platform, wireless CarPlay and Android Auto | 2025 on only |
The RA3 and RA4 codes are the trade's names for the 2013 to 2017 radios and appear on the unit's label; they are not Stellantis marketing names, which is why you will see both "8.4A" and "RA3" for the same part.
Will a used radio just plug in and work?
Often, and sometimes not. Within the same body and year the radio physically fits and powers up. What can need attention is the vehicle configuration: the radio needs to know which options the truck has (backup camera, satellite radio, sound system, steering wheel controls), and a radio from a differently equipped donor can show a camera that is not there or miss one that is. On these trucks that configuration is done with a diagnostic tool, by a dealer or an independent shop with the right software, and it is a short job. We tell you up front whether the radio you are buying is a straight match for your options or needs that step.
Can I upgrade from the 8.4 to the 12-inch screen?
On a 2019 to 2024 DT, people do, but it is not a radio swap. The 12-inch unit sits in a different centre stack bezel, uses a different harness and climate control arrangement, and needs configuration. We can supply the parts from a donor when we have them, and we will be straight with you about what the job involves before you commit. On a DS there was never a 12-inch factory option.
What is checked on a used Uconnect?
- Touchscreen responsive across the whole surface, with no dead corners or ghost touches, and no delamination (the DS 8.4 screen can bubble with age; we grade for it).
- Boot and sound on the donor, radio and Bluetooth paired and playing.
- Camera input displays where the donor had a camera.
- Buttons and knobs present and working, bezel intact.
Do you ship radios?
Yes. Radios are small and ship well anywhere in Canada at the buyer's expense.
